Year 7 make Waka Huia
The Year 7s have been very busy at the start of this year in creating their very own Waka huia. That is treasure containers made by Māori and the intricate carving patterns meant that waka huia themselves were treasured artworks and so were thought of as the ideal place for anyone to keep their own personal treasures.
Each Year 7 were asked to bring photos, pictures or other treasures that they would like to put onto their Waka huia. Here are Anzel Nel and Daniel Mead with their Waka Huia.
