Congratulations Isla!

Awesome mahi and an excellent example of exhibiting all our school values.

Tim Pamflett, Schools Partnership Manager – South Island, from World Vision sent in the following message:

Just want to take a moment to acknowledge the work that Isla McPherson has put into the World Vision 40 Hour Challenge over the last 2 years. She has helped over $5000 just in the last 2 years, and I believe been part of raising a further $4000 in the 2 years before then. Isla has been integral in raising the profile of World Vision at Darfield High School, and this has shown in a year on year increase in fundraising over the last 3 years, years in which many schools have seen a drop in fundraising.

As a result of her efforts;

World Vision is offering a select group of schools that completed the World Vision 40 Hour Challenge the chance to receive some free, in class social justice leadership sessions.

I am proud to say that Darfield High School (thanks to Isla’s work!) has been identified as a top performing school this year and I would love to offer you these sessions.

DHS are delighted to receive these leadership sessions and will bring you details of them in a future newsletter. Thank you Isla for enabling us to have this opportunity.
