RSA Scholarship Applications

Open to Year 8 students and awarded at Junior Prizegiving in December

The Hororata-Malvern Returned Services Association members would like to support young people by giving them additional opportunities. Our former servicemen and women see this as a way of continuing to support the vision they served for - a free, democratic country which provides opportunities for its citizens.

The Hororata-Malvern RSA award an annual scholarship to two Year 8 students of Darfield High School, who are continuing into Year 9 at this school. Each scholarship is for an amount of $350 and should be used to make a difference to the opportunities the student can access. Examples could be the purchase of specialised equipment for academic, cultural or sporting activities; the cost of special tuition; extension studies; academic competition entry fees.

The Application Form and accompanying essay are submitted to the principals office by Friday 24 November 2023.

Shortlisted applicants may be interviewed by representatives of the Hororata-Malvern RSA and Darfield High School by 05 December 2023.

Scholarships will be announced and presented at the Years 7 & 8 Prizegiving.
