Shave for a Cure

The long and the short of it - we need your support!

This year we have 12 students and staff participating in Shave for a Cure. So far we have raised $4,804 which means that we are just about halfway to our goal of $10,000. This year Riley Leslie, Leo Tucker, Arran Armstrong, Tyler Barlett, Faye Sharratt, Rhyan Manson, MacKenzie Butler, Cory Frew, Mr McDonald, Mr England, Mrs Whyte and Mrs Rangi have signed up to participate. If you would like to participate in Shave For A Cure (through either shaving or cutting) sign up via the link below. Remember to keep fundraising… the countdown is on and it is only 18 days until the event. Below is a profile about Arran Armstrong, one of our shavees.

Arran Armstrong

I am doing ‘Shave for a Cure’ this year because I know that I can’t do much on my own to save lives from cancer, and I want to take the initiative to lead and encourage people to donate to this cause. The statistics in New Zealand and for the world for cancer patients and fatalities are horrifying. But they’re not just statistics either, each one of them is a real human being who is suffering from a disease that has ailed the human race for millenia. I feel that by gathering together donations to fund research and cover the costs of medicine and chemotherapy, I am doing God’s work in the world to help those who are suffering more than I am, because I am healthy and they are not.

“So then, as we have opportunity, let us do good to everyone...” - Galatians 6:10
