Oral Tapestries

Thursday night, Darfield High School ran the annual Junior Oral Tapestries event. A wonderful evening of polished and competitive speeches from Years 7 - 9. Last night's event was MC'd by senior student Mackenzie Morgan and judged by Melissa Jebson and Nikki Ferguson-Brown.

Witnessing the passion our young students brought to this competition last night was wonderful. There was a wide variety of energetic, humorous and serious speeches. All speeches were polished and set the bar high for next week's senior part of the competition. It was a joy to see the physical celebration of our winners, highlighting how invested these students have been in their speeches.

An enormous congratulations to the following students for their participation and placings in the oral tapestries final:

Year 7

First Place - Marlie McCaughan - 'Why being short is exceptional.'

Second Place - Ethan Roets - 'Your cat is secretly plotting to kill you.'

Third Place - Millie McDrury - 'Why I am the favourite child.'
