The Zonta Young Women in Public Affairs Award (YWPA) is currently open for applications. Zonta is a global organisation of professionals empowering women worldwide through service and advocacy; and has a number of awards each year, YPWA being one of them. The goal of the programme is to encourage young women to participate in public affairs by recognising a commitment to the voluntary sector.

The Award recognises young women, ages 16-19, who demonstrate superior leadership skills and a commitment to public service and civic causes, and encourages them to continue their participation in public and political life. The awardee will win $500 at club level and have the opportunity to go forward to the national level award where they will receive NZ$1,000 and US$5000.
