Mr V's Update

Dean Van't Veen —

Kia ora e te Whānau

It is great to be back at our awesome Kura this term with the Orange setting, meaning we are able to connect in person. I have really enjoyed seeing the tamariki mixing with each other outside, staff being able to connect in person in the staffroom and seeing more Whānau coming on school site. We had our first Whānau time with parents invited today, and the second time we have been together as a full school for this occasion in 2022.

It has been great having activities at school this term such as Cycle Sense, Two Raw Sisters and of course holding our Cross Country. Well done to all our students that gave it their best. Super cool!

On Monday 23rd of May our 'Breakfast Club' will be starting, being held in the staffroom from 8am each school day. A HUGE thank you to the PTA, parents, staff, supporters and sponsors. You are awesome! A roster has been put together with support from parents, staff and senior school students. It not only is an opportunity to provide breakfast to children who need it but also an opportunity to show 'Whakawhānaungatanga' (sharing with and appreciating others).

A further reminder that we have two Teacher Only Days this term on Friday 3rd of June and Thursday 23rd of June. School will be CLOSED on these days. Staff will be participating with our Kātote Kāhui Ako and school wide professional learning development.

We have made a big commitment to the DIMIC mathematics programme. More information can be found on https://www.cerme.nz/dmic

Our values focus for this term is Pono (integrity).

Have a great weekend!

Mr V.
