Future Problem Solving (FPS) Report

Aaron, Kielan and Bianca —

FPS stands for Future Problem Solving which is a programme for kids to express their knowledge about various topics throughout the year.

The students that take part in FPS are put into groups to research their specific topic, as well as find the 16 challenges and 16 solutions within the topic.

Mrs Rankin is our coach for the six KBS teams and individuals, as we learn and experience the six problem solving steps in the FPS programme. 51 countries globally are involved this year and we are very excited to be joining them.

Last term we learnt about how to write the challenges and solutions down from a future scene set 50 years ahead of our time about the topic ‘Youth in Competitive Sports’. We are excited to receive our evaluated booklets from Auckland this week.

The students were selected for certain skills mainly creativity, writing, reading and researching.

With the people around us and learning we have achieved so far we believe we can tackle anything that is thrown our way. Overall FPS is a great learning programme and is an experience to jump into and to bring into our own future to solve issues in the world.
