My name is Nicole, and I am working alongside many other wonderful volunteers in North Canterbury to fundraise for Ukraine. The situation in Ukraine is getting more dire by the day. For more than a month they have endured the ongoing violence, destruction and upheaval of an escalating conflict.

We have started the Ukraine Blue and Yellow Ribbon Appeal alongside the Ukraine Consulate of New Zealand to fundraise for vital humanitarian aid and support for the people of Ukraine. We are currently looking for help from schools with fundraising such as having mufti days, bake sales, or market days. By working alongside the Ukraine Consulate of New Zealand we are able to ensure that all proceeds will be going straight to where they need to be (with no overheads or administration fees) – to the courageous and brave people of Ukraine.

We also have a fundraising event coming up. The Ukrainian Consul of New Zealand will be coming to speak about the current war in Ukraine providing a detailed and in-depth account of what is occurring in Ukraine. The flyer for these events is attached and it would be great if you could put it up in your school, or in newsletters.

Any help your school is able to offer would be greatly appreciated. Our prayers remain with the people of Ukraine and we hope to offer them as much support as we can through our community-wide and hopefully soon-to-be nationwide fundraising effort.
