Principals Update
A HUGE thank you for your support on Thursday last week with our Matariki celebrations. We had a great turnout with whānau supporting our tamariki. I was super proud of our awesome kapahaka groups in performing to a wider audience. Very cool! Monday last week was great seeing our Kahawai tamariki put on the ice skates and have a go at ice skating. Great seeing support for others! On Tuesday I had the privilege of taking three senior leaders (Kaliah, Ashleigh and Te Arahu) for a special treat as part of our Mana Tangata programme. Well done Tanne, Nick, and Ashton who were acknowledged by another kura for their superb behaviour during Winter Sports. Thank you for your support too with learning hui this week in connecting with your child's teacher. Our aim is to ideally have 100% engagement with our whānau. If you haven't made an appointment, I would highly encourage you to do so at the beginning of next term. Congratulations David Rankin who won the top coach overall and our team James, Ryan, Riley and Hamish who won the top innovation award in the whole competition at the nationwide ‘First NZ Lego League championships’ that was held in Auckland, stunning effort! Thank you to David and Bron Rankin for supporting our tamariki!
We have had a number of students away with sickness of late. If your child is feeling unwell please keep them at home until they are well and let the office know.
On Thursday 28th July from 9am we will be having our first mihi whakatau to welcome new whānau and staff. You are very welcome to attend this. Our first school disco for 2022 is on Friday 19th August with Inanga and Patiki 5-6pm, then Tuna and Kahawai 6:30-7:30pm. Thank you to the PTA for your support with what you do!As this is the last week of the term I would like to thank everyone for your continued support. I wish all of you a great school holiday and look forward to having the team back when school resumes on Monday the 25th of July. Thank you staff for your continued hard mahi, dedicating your time to ensure our tamariki get the best possible education they deserve. Enjoy a well deserved break!
