Whānau Kōrero —

Dear Parents and Friends of the School,

Kia ora koutou.

Thank you to all parents and caregivers who were able to come along and celebrate their child’s learning and progress at our Whānau Conversations this week. If you were unable to attend these, it’s not too late! Just get in touch with your child’s teacher and schedule a time.

For us to effectively report on your child’s progress and achievement it requires meaningful, ongoing information sharing processes between home and school. We are committed to implementing strong reporting and information sharing systems at Te Kura Whakatipu o Kawarau, of which our Whānau Conversations play an important role. Other aspects of our formal Reporting to Parents programme include:

  • Term 1: Meet the Team; completing Whānau Connect form (sharing aspirations and strengths); Whānau Conversations (week 9)

  • Term 2: Written report (week 9)

  • Term 3: Whānau Conversations (week 9)

  • Term 4: Written report (week 9)

This formal reporting programme is also supported by informal information sharing, including conversations between home and school, seesaw posts, and celebrations of learning through school assemblies and our school newsletter.

Please do not hesitate to contact me if you ever have any queries or concerns.

Enjoy your weekend.

Kia ora ano tatou

Kindest regards

Tania McNamara
