Building Awesome Whānau

Whānau Kōrero —

Kia ora

Our names are Hannelie and Ruth and we work within The Salvation Army Queenstown Community team. We are starting up a new parenting programme called Building Awesome Whānau. This is another great course provided to us through Parenting Place
Building Awesome Whānau draws on the wisdom of Māori kaupapa (values) which is uniquely Aotearoa. Packed full of great ideas and positive stories from parents still on the journey with their own tamariki (children) with practical ideas to help those you work with

This course is ideal for whānau of all different cultures with 0-12 year old children and all parents, extended family and friends raising kids together. The course runs for a total of 8 weeks with 6 different sessions of topics, covering things like 'Laying the foundations - building your family on aroha', 'The walls of the whare - boundaries to keep the good stuff in and the bad stuff out' and 'Cool kōrero - communication'.

This will be held at The Salvation Army Queenstown, upstairs at 71 Gorge Road
