Remembering Mr Gazzard
On Sunday last week, former Queenstown principal and councillor, Mel Gazzard passed away.
We know that many of you in our community got to know Mr Gazzard when he was principal at Queenstown Primary School.
For those of you who were students there, you’ll remember his big laugh, love of Outdoor Ed week, the way he always had time to listen to you, and possibly some of those big shiny ‘Principal’s Award’ stickers if you were lucky enough to be sent to the office to show him your work.
For those of you who may have worked with him at QPS you’ll no doubt remember Mel as the sort of person who made sure you knew that you mattered.
Thank you Mr Gazzard for all that you did for education in this area. You have left behind an impressive legacy and we know you touched many hearts.
