Hui for Whānau

Whānau Kōrero —

On Monday the 28 of August, we will be holding a hui to gather voices around the bicultural aspects of our school.

All school families are welcome to join us for this hui about biculturalism in New Zealand but we especially encourage whānau of learners with Māori or Pacific descent, to join us and help us to reflect and plan for the future.

The purpose of this hui is to come together, connect, share kai and chat about the direction our school is taking (or could be taking) in order to enhance the mana of all our learners and live up to the wonderful opportunities that our bicultural education system creates.

We believe that building and growing strong relationships between home and school is vital in ensuring the success for all of our learners.

We also believe that learners need to see themselves and their culture reflected and treasured in order to reach their potential.

You and your extended whānau know your children best and we want to hear from you about how we can support all our young people to gather, learn and grow.

This gathering will be informal. Kaumatua Darren Rewi will join us and our Senior Leadership Team (Tania, Lara, Cam and Megan) will share with you our journey so far. We welcome your input and ideas about what's going well, what's not going well, and where we can go next.

We will put on some kai, however, you are welcome to bring a plate if you wish to contribute.

The gym will be open for any of our learners and their siblings to have some fun during this time. This will be supervised.

Please RSVP on this form to help us organise catering. If you do not plan on attending please don't worry about filling in the form.

NB: We will be consulting with all the families of our learners later this term via a Google Form, similar to last year.
