Junior School Athletics

Sports —

Our Year 1-3 learners are very excited to be participating in the Junior School Athletics at Te Kura Whakatipu o Kawarau on Thursday 23rd March!

Over the last few weeks, our learners have been taking part in a programme which teaches them skills in running, jumping and throwing. Our Athletics Day programme is designed to celebrate their successes and show you the skills our learners have been practising.

We would like to invite you to come and watch and cheer on our learners as they take part.

Programme

The athletics events will start at 11.10am on the field and will finish at around 12.35pm. We will then break for lunch.

We will hold the sprints and hurdles later in the afternoon. These will start at 1.45pm on the field.

What your child needs to bring:

  • Named sunhat

  • Water bottle

  • Shoes for running

  • Morning tea and lunch with healthy options

  • Polar fleece

  • We would love all of our learners to come dressed in their Whānau Group colours! (Jardine - green, Tewa - red, Rees - yellow, Hakitekura - blue). If you are not sure which Whānau group your child is in, please contact their teacher.

School guidelines for sharing images on social media

We are happy for parents to take photos/videos of their children at sports day.

If parents want to share photos/videos on social media, please consider the following:

  • If the images have pictures of other students, think about editing to remove them.

  • Make sure that other students are not named in any online posts.

Thank you for your support.

We look forward to seeing you at our Athletics Day!

Regards,

Victoria, Dee, Nicole, Brenna and Megan.
