Wet gear: check. Hat: check. Floatation device: check. We are sailing, we are sailing...
Despite the wet weather that rolled in on Thursday morning, threatening to scupper the sailing plans, Te Tāhu Rua Reo bravely boarded the bus for Lake Rua.
A wee bit of rain didn't dampen the enthusiasm of Te Tāhu Rua Reo as they set themselves to go sailing at Lake Rua on Thursday. The sailing tutors gave excellent briefs on what was needed and the students responded brilliantly.
Initially, there were a few wobbles, but each time the students had another go, they became braver and more confident. We ended the sailing with some students standing up in the boats to sail.
E mihi nui ana a Te Tāhu Rua Reo ki a Whaea Lisa mo tana kaha ki te whakariterite i enei mahi e whai hua ai a tātou tamariki.
Thank you also to the tutors and teachers of KORE, Mr. Cooper and Whaea Loren for helping on the day.
