This week the Senior Syndicate were given the challenge of constructing a tower that could hold a marshmallow at its highest point. The teams were measured from the bottom of the structure to the bottom point of the marshmallow. Teams were pre chosen and groups had 5 minutes to plan and then 25 minutes to build. The only materials they were given were masking tape, raw spaghetti and a marshmallow.

 Success criteria

- had to be free standing,

- there needed to be more spaghetti than tape visible

- you had to return the marshmallow at the end.

Amazingly all but one returned.

A great range of designs were employed, and groups worked furiously in the allotted time. It was great to see students working together, sharing ideas, and modifying as they went along.
