On our Teacher Only Day, staff spent a lot of the day having professional development on the new Aotearoa New Zealand Histories curriculum. We were fortunate to have the Curriculum Leads, who are based in the Ministry Of Education offices, help us unpack the document and guide us through localising the curriculum.

Together, Aotearoa New Zealand’s histories within the refreshed social sciences learning area encourage ākonga to be critical citizens – learning about the past to understand the present and prepare for the future. 

 We are looking forward to learning more about and passing on the rich history of Te Puna and Aotearoa/New Zealand with the support of our local hapu and wider community.
