Rūma Rua Robots
What talented Year 2 writers!
I was in line with my class to go on a bus that sounded familiar. We needed to get into our costumes and build character. When it was our turn the year wasn’t 2021 it was a different year. I had tonnes of glitter in my hair, it was like a glitter cannon. I felt like a king. When I got home it took weeks to get it out! I still have some in my hair.

When I was in line with my backpack on my back me and Ruby walked to the bus and the bus was so noisy. Also when we got to Baycourt it was so noisy I couldn’t even hear my voice. Then we all put on robot costumes and then we all walked down the stairs and the music was playing and we had so much fun. We were like stars glittering. It felt like tiny ants crawling on my head because it was covered in glitter.

I felt excited while stepping on stage. I robotted on to stage. It felt like I was in the future. There was lights reflecting everywhere. It felt like we were having a disco party. When we got home I dunked my hair in a bucket then we tried washing it in the shower. I wish I could keep the glitter in my hair. When I got on the bus I sat with Cooper.

When I went to bed I couldn’t get to sleep. When the lights came on I felt really nervous and then I felt like I had butterflies in my tummy. My mum and dad said that our costumes were the best. The glitter was so pretty that it made us shine like gold.

On Wednesday we were at school and it was production. I was waiting to get called and then we got called and straight away we all put makeup on. But then I felt nervous but when it ended I felt confident and I wanted to do it all again. After that all the way home my heart was beating like Sonic. When I got home I went in the shower and then my hair created a black hole.

On Wednesday night we had a very sparkly production. I followed the glittery hair to find my class. The audience blinked at the dancers because the lights were flashing. The robot music went on. We silently walked down the big stairs. After the day production some people got picked up and some went on the bus. I was a bus person, were you a bus person too? I was feeling very confident that I did great! My parents clapped and cheered. I felt sweaty. The fiery red lights shimmered on our silver costume. The hair spray felt like very old crusty slime with glitter. My favourite thing was the gems.

The lights burst on the the robots that were performing on stage. When we were on stage some of the class got stage fright. I got the most stage fright and I said I want to go back! The lights were reflecting on all the classes in my whole school. The lights started to go dark. The curtains started to close. The robots began to walk off.

I was so excited I darted out of bed. When we got to the bus I was so excited. When we were there I was on the stage and I saw sparkling lights on the stage. My hair was sparkly like a disco ball.

It was so exciting when we hopped on the steamy yellow bus. Twinkling glitter was falling off my head like little ants falling off a mountain. At the end of the amazing show my Mum and Dad and sister said “well done you were amazing!” When it was night, glitter was all on my pillow like a glitter lake. People cheered so loud!
