Busy Bee's Gardening

Alexia Skipper-Jones —

In Week 2 of our Māra Kai program, (Gardening for Food) the Y3-4 tamariki got busy planting in the garden and the greenhouse.

Whilst Ms Green had a small group transplanting swan plants and transporting caterpillars, Shelley supported a group to plant seeds in trays, plus capsicum, and courgette in the greenhouse.

The rest of the tamariki, prepared our 2 tier garden with paving stones, ensuring no one would step on our new plants in the process of planting.

Then a number of plants including, spinach, lettuce, carrots, celery, spring onion, onion, beetroot, and more including our herb tub were sown into the soil.
