On another stunning Tauranga evening last Thursday, Gate Pa hosted their Top School event for Y5-6 tamariki across the WBOP.

Who remembers Top Town? Top School is based on the NZ game show series Top Town, which was on TV between 1976 and 1990.

The excitement, noise and pressure of the Top School event consumed each of the 25 teams present, and although Te Puna had their challenges their support for each other and team work enabled them to thoroughly enjoy every minute of the evening.  

I was super proud of all of our tamariki, each of the 7 events was like a pressure cooker, with 7 minutes to complete as many cycles as possible.  

Our team of 12, 6 boys and girls, were committed from the beginning, excited to be selected and dedicated to lunchtime practices. One of the best groups of tamariki to work with.

Due to Covid, this event was cancelled last year, and the teams certainly made up for it in volume.
