Some things are just not an option!

Neil Towersey —

Do I have to? But I don't want to....Those famous words can easily lead to a battle of the wills!

I heard a good quote once, "Never negotiate with terrorists, or children"...

Please help our teachers by ensuring that you send a note or an email to school if your child is legitimately unable to take part in an event.

"I don't feel like swimming or I don't feel like doing PE " are things we commonly hear and often go into unnecessary battle over. - I am sure you relate!

The programmes we run are important things to be fully engaged in and some self-discipline is required. The same self-discipline that is applied to all other learning in school.

As we all know, children can try to 'work the system' in their favour when they are not keen to do something...that is where we need your help..let's close the loopholes and shutdown opportunity to be hoodwinked!

Please communicate with us - it has never been easier with text, email, apps, phone call or old fashioned notes...It is important that messages state a medical, or valid reason, as well as the dates that it applies for.

So we are clear, all children are expected to take swimming lessons and should be prepared for swimming each day and all children should be taking part in daily fitness /PE activities- any variance to this should be supported by a note (or other messages) from home, please.

This will help our teachers enormously. Thanks.
