Te Puna Matauranga Camp 2023:Tui Ridge Park, Rotorua
Hikaka ana te ngākau o ngā tauira!!!
Te Puna Matauranga recently embarked on an exhilarating adventure at Tui Ridge Park in Rotorua. After a hiatus since 2019, our students from Te Kakano and Te Kauri reunited for a camp experience that resonated with laughter, learning, and teamwork.
The aura of Tui Ridge Park instantly embraced us with its scenic beauty, setting the stage for an array of thrilling activities that sparked enthusiasm among our students. From paintball sling shots to the adrenaline rush of the flying fox, giant swing, and high ropes, every moment was a testament to our students' courage and determination kia maia, kia manawanui!
The laughter and shouts echoed through the campgrounds during the Nerf war, giant games, top team challenges, and gym activities, showcasing not only their competitive spirits but also their ability to collaborate and support each other and haere tonu aha koa ngā piki me ngā heke.
One of the most significant aspects of this camp was witnessing Te Puna Matauranga's tuakana-teina (senior-junior) relationship flourish. Students worked harmoniously, fostering mutual respect, building confidence, and nurturing resilience. It was inspiring to see the older students guide and support the younger ones, creating an environment where everyone felt valued and empowered.
None of this would have been possible without the support of our head camp caterer, Whaea Naomi Huni, and all the incredible camp parents whose tireless efforts ensured the success of every activity and the comfort of all participants. Their commitment to our students' well-being and enjoyment was truly commendable. Lastly to our kaiako who put this all together ngā mihi nui.
As the camp drew to a close, there was a unanimous sentiment among the students—gratitude and eagerness for the next year's camp. The memories created, the bonds strengthened, and the lessons learned will undoubtedly linger in the minds of everyone who participated.
Te Puna Matauranga's camp experience at Tui Ridge Park was not merely about adventure; it was a testament to the resilience, unity, and spirit of our students.
