Paparoa Marae Visit
Four junior classes spent an amazing day at Paparoa Marae last week.
Paparoa Marae hosted four classes from our school on Thursday last week.
Tame Kuka, Billy Borrell and Tommy Wilson taught the children about the history and importance of the marae and told local Te Puna stories which kept the children entertained.
The rest of the day was spent learning poi, sketching, learning rakau and watching TPM perform.
Whaea Te Waikohua and children from Te Pihinga and Te Kauri helped teach and support the other classes.
Some wonderful shared memories and powerful connections were made. The children can't wait for a return visit.
