Best Sportsmanship Award

Congratulations to our six Y7-8 Hockey players who played in the Bethlehem College Sports Festival for their Sportsmanship award.

At the sports festival each team coach had to mark their opponent's team out of 5 for the quality of their sportsmanship.  Te Puna came out with the most sportsmanship points from 7 teams entered.  Congratulations Oscar, Keanu, Izaac, Elias, Holly and Andre who all showed moments of being good sports.

It was particularly nice to see Oscar and Keanu offer a hand up to the opposition when they fell, and all our players instinctively own up to a ball on the foot.  I really liked the way our team gelled, supporting each other, win or lose they gave their all.

Being a good sport is the way you conduct yourself on the sports field.  Such as fairness, respect for the opponent, and graciousness in winning and losing.

Well done kids, we are all very proud of you.
