The Careers service at Hagley is open for help and support with CVs and booking courses for next year. Still need help with deciding what you want to do next year? We can help.

You can make an appointment or call in. Book via the school portal selecting the ‘Careers’ green button.

Dual Enrolment

There are still some places left on dual enrolment courses for 2023. Split your week between Hagley and ARA and learn a trade at the same time as well as gaining valuable Level 2 or 3 credits. Come to Careers for an application form.

Getting a Job

Start a CV online at careers.govt.nz. Register an account and then follow the prompts to make a CV.

Where to look for a job?

  • Register your CV and start looking on Seek, Trade Me Jobs, Indeed.com and Student Job Search (SJS) (you have to be in school or going to tertiary to register on SJS)
  • Ask parents, friends of parents, friends, friends’ parents...
  • Check in shop windows, at the mall, supermarket noticeboards
  • Door knocking – head out there! Take your CV and approach some places that you think you’d like to work. Be brave it usually pays dividends.
