NCEA is up for review. Minister of Education Chris Hipkins wants to identify opportunities to strengthen NCEA. He’s appointed a Ministerial Advisory Group which has developed some proposals called the ‘Six Big Opportunities’. Everyone - students, teachers, parents, whānau, employers and tertiary organisations - has the opportunity to comment. We'd like to hear what our Hagley community thinks.

What are the six big opportunities? What changes to NCEA have been suggested?

You can find out about these suggested changes by checking out these five one-minute long videos, or read more about them at this Big Opportunities link.

How can I give feedback or find our more?

1: You can give online feedback  about what you think about NCEA and the Big Opportunities. Start the NCEA and Big Opportunities survey.

2: You can also complete a quick anonymous survey about what you think about NCEA and how it could be improved.

3: We’re also running a Coffee Morning [and a Coffee Evening] from 9.30 to 10.30 am on Tuesday 14 August in our Student Centre to talk with parents and whānau about NCEA and to find out your thoughts.

[Feedback closes on 16 September]

Year 13 Hagley student Flynn Watson is running a NCEA survey/class discussion based around student opinions about the national discussion on NCEA early in Term 3.

Students can also email Flynn feedback to his school email: flynn.watson@hagleyschool.onmicrosoft.com

We’re also talking with our staff about NCEA and encouraging them to give their feedback too.
