Tihei Māori Ora!

Jasmine Lambert —

He puna wai, he puna mātauranga, he puna o te maha, nō reira, mauria mai ō tuakiri katoa ki tēnei kura. Ahakoa ngā karawhiu o te wā, ka ako tonu tātau i raro i te haumaru. He wai kia puāwai te koru, he wai kia puāwai te tangata. E rere, e rere, e rere ana te Puna Wai o Waipapa!

Welcome to Te Puna Wai o Waipapa & welcome to our first-ever edition of Tihei Māori Ora!

Tihei Māori Ora! is a newsletter to ensure all whānau throughout Te Puna Wai o Waipapa are connected to all things kaupapa Māori that our rangatahi are participating in within the kura and beyond.

The name Tihei Māori Ora! is derived from the kōrero of Tihei Mauri Ora. Whilst Tihei Mauri Ora talks about all life we wanted to use the name Tihei Māori Ora! to acknowledge the strong sense of Māoritanga that pulsates throughout Te Puna Wai o Waipapa.

Tihei Māori Ora! will be sent out at the beginning of each term and will include everything from what our Māori students & kaiako have been doing, to important dates so that whānau can know in advance what events are coming up. This first edition is about Ko Wai Mātou? Who are we? We hope that by reading this you will have a sense of who the people are that care for and tautoko your rangatahi whilst at Te Puna Wai o Waipapa. If you would like to join the mailing list to receive this newsletter going forward, please email jasmine.lambert@staff.hagley.school.nz or Sondra.Bunt-Muir@staff.hagley.school.nz

The Whare o Te Puna Wai o Waipapa also has a Facebook page to connect with whānau, and share any news and notices. Please follow through this link: https://www.facebook.com/groups/124891122092373/

Hei whakakapi anei te karakia whakataki o 2022.

Nā Regan Kupu Stokes i tito.

Kia toka tū moana te tū,

Kia tautoko tētahi i tētahi,

Kia aro tonu ki te ako,

e nui ai ngā hua o te tau.

Haumi ē, hui ē, tāiki ē!
