Hagley’s counselling team offers support for students for a multitude of issues. The team works out of Simpson House, just south of the main block.

The team is made up of Illa (attendance and well-being administrator) and Jennifer, Leanne and Michael (counsellors). Jennifer is new to the team this year and is working part time while also completing her Masters Degree in Counselling. Leanne has extensive experience working with youth and youth at risk and enjoys working one-on-one or with groups, while Michael brings an extensive background in teaching to his counselling .

We would encourage any member of the Hagley whānau who would like support during times of stress, uncertainty or confusion to come to Simpson House, should they wish to. Our philosophy is based around listening, acceptance and non-judgemental support. All meetings are strictly confidential, and appointments can be made by using the Hagley app or by arranging an appointment with Illa at Simpson House reception.
