Homework Centre Changes

Ben Gresham —

Hagley’s Multi-Ethnic Homework and Study Centre has changed its times and days. The new times are:

Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4-6pm

Children can be dropped from 3:30pm but will need to to be picked up by 6pm.

There will be no homework centre on Wednesdays in Term 2.

The Multi-Ethnic Homework and Study Centre is a free educational support programme for primary and secondary aged school children in Christchurch from refugee backgrounds. One on one tutoring support is available for secondary school students in a number of subjects including NCEA level Mathematics, Chemistry, English and Physics. A programme of support and learning is provided for primary and intermediate students. Students come from a range of schools across Christchurch.

Students attending should bring with them the homework or study material they want assistance with. Students can also bring their own devices and use the school wi-fi or use Hagley laptops. The school library is also open until 8pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays and is a useful resource. To enquire about this programme please contact Ben Gresham ben.gresham@staff.hagley.school.nz.

Parents can also attend the Adult Community Education (ACE) classes that run at the same time as the homework centre. This is part of Hagley College’s family learning model. Spaces are limited. Please contact Isabelle Wagmi (isabelle.wagmi@staff.hagley.school.nz) or phone 03 379 1916 to find out about available spaces in our ACE classes.
