New Staff

Jenni Holden —

We would like to extend a warm welcome to our newest staff at Te Puna Wai o Waipapa - Hagley College.

Hayden Shaw

Kia ora koutou, I'm very excited to be working at Te Puna Wai o Waipapa. My role here is the Deputy Principal with oversight of Teaching and Learning. I have come from Rolleston College where I was Associate Principal and I spent the last 7 years helping to set that kura up. I have really enjoyed getting to know both students and staff over the last month at Te Puna Wai o Waipapa and I have been made to feel very welcome! I look forward to being part of the leadership team of this kura as we continue to offer great learning experiences to our students.

Nadene Brouwer

Tēnā tātou katoa. The warmth and positivity of the kaiako and the fun and inclusive nature of the rangatahi have been a highlight so far at Te Puna Wai o Waipapa. I have taught in Ōtautahi since 2009 and I enjoy collaboration, future-focussed pedagogy and ensuring students have agency in their learning so they become engaged and active global citizens. I am looking forward to continuing this approach alongside my Social Science colleagues and with the wider kura community.

Alice Nash

Kia ora, e te whānau. My name is Alice and I joined the Science department late in Term 2. My area of passion is Biology, and I am also a self-confessed dinosaur nerd. I have baby dinosaurs and run children's parties in my own time during the weekends and holidays. I love working here at Te Puna Wai o Waipapa. Everyone has been so welcoming and being able to just be yourself is something I am really enjoying. I also have a science bunny - Attenburrow, you may see him from time to time when he hops in for a wee visit.

Jess Tyrie

Hi! My name is Jess, and I am the new Fitness Center Manager here at Te Puna Wai o Waipapa! I am a fully qualified personal trainer and have recently completed a Bachelor of Applied Science in Sport and Exercise at Ara. I am really passionate about encouraging students to get involved in fitness and teaching them how to do so in a safe and fun way. It has been really cool to see the small community of students who are already gym regulars – especially the ones who aren’t necessarily involved in sports otherwise. I look forward to getting to know the wider Hagley community and hopefully see the gym continue to grow and evolve!

Also joining us recently are Adam Pamplin (Science department) and Emily Snowball-Boyes (Attendance and Wellbeing Administrator, located in Simpson House). Welcome to all of our new staff - we hope you are settling in well.
