This is an NZTA approved course. Once successfully completed, the defensive driving course reduces the time on your restricted licence from 18 months to 12 months to sit their full licence.

All high school students and tertiary student groups receive a discounted rate of 10%, thus cost per person is $215.10. If students choose to complete the unit standards, there is a $20 handling fee for marking of the unit standards, so total per student is $215.10 excluding unit standards or $235.10 including unit standards.

· The course consists of 4 classroom sessions of 2 hours each and a 1-hour practical drive.

· These sessions need to be completed in succession and as this is a dedicated course, we will not be able to move them from this course, to a public course, if they miss a session.

· Please also note that the students will have 60 days after the 4th classroom session, to complete their in-car drive. The NZTA is very strict on the 60 days, so we are not authorised to extend the expiry date of the voucher. The NZTA will only consider extension (and will need proof submitted), if there is a medical reason for this.

· The students can receive 10-unit standards credits at level 2, once they have completed the 8 in class sessions, completed the unit standard work booklets and the 1-hour in car drive. These unit standards are 3464, 3465 and 3466.

The course will run subject to sufficient numbers.

Students must attend all four sessions, as well as the in-car drive. The classroom sessions are scheduled for:

· Monday, 15th August, 10.45-12.45 session 1

· Thursday, 18th August, 10.45-12.45 session 2

· Monday, 22nd August, 8.30am-10.30 session 3

· Friday, 26th August, 12.40-2.40pm session 4

Students need to register via this form. Payments are to be made at the Enrolment Centre by Friday, 5th August.
