Peer support
The opportunity is open for Year 12 students to volunteer to be part of our Peer Support programme in 2023.
As Zyon wrote earlier in the year, “One of the privileges offered to senior students at Te Puna Wai o Waipapa is the opportunity to become Peer Support leaders and help new Year 9 students become part of the Hagley Whānau. The high school Peer Support programme is a nationwide initiative with the sole purpose of helping make the transition from primary to secondary school as seamless and supported as possible… Watching students become more confident in themselves and with one another is the most rewarding part of being a Peer Support Leader.”
The key part of the training for Year 13s happens off-site at our Leadership Camp in Hanmer Springs, from 25th – 27th January, before school starts back for the year. Year 12 students who are interested should pick up an application form from the Enrolment Centre.
