For the last few months, the Library has been running a Reading Bingo, to encourage students to read as much as possible.
The idea was to read books from several different categories, with prizes for completing one row, two rows, or the whole sheet. Students who completed the challenge won either a bluetooth speaker or a $30 Westfield voucher. Most students were keen to read the whole sheet so they could also go in the draw to win a Samsung Galaxy tablet.
This was a really fun activity for Library staff too, because we got to talk to the students about the books they’d read and enjoyed (or not!) The quality of their reflections on their reading was often quite impressive. It was also really refreshing to see their enthusiasm for books and the enjoyment reading continues to give them.
Principal Mike Fowler drew the winner of the Samsung tablet, and Cerwyn Bach-Strong was the lucky recipient. Well done!
