In May this year, Hagley ex-student Renee Phillips represented NZ at the Australian Junior Fencing Championships.

She gained a silver medal in the women’s team event. Renee continues a great tradition in Fencing. Ex-student Thomas Johnston won a gold medal in the men’s foils teams in secondary school’s champs 2019 and represented NZ in the Commonwealth Junior championships in Newcastle England in 2018.

Kate has both coached and refereed at an Olympic level and coaches our students with Renee on Wednesday afternoons.
