Do the Duke
Year 9 and Year 10 Do the Duke students have been working hard by volunteering in the community.
After working in the Botanic Gardens recently, we are now volunteering at the Canterbury Foodbank. Over the next four weeks, students will be packaging food items into boxes that will be delivered to families in need. The staff at Canterbury Foodbank have been very impressed with our hard-working and well-mannered Te Puna Wai o Waipapa - Hagley College students. It was also pleasing to hear students ask staff about how they could volunteer at the Foodbank in their own time.
As well as volunteering, Do the Duke students work on their physical fitness and learn a new skill. Some students will choose to complete their Duke of Edinburgh Bronze Award as part of the course too.
