Branch Meeting of the Anthroposophical Society
There exists within every human being a desire to be ‘fully-realised’. This is the founding impulse that
drives our desire to incarnate into earthy lives. We could say that to be ‘realised’ is to become truly
human. However, there are powerful forces that work against this spiritual mission, working to create
fear, doubt and hate within humanity. Can we meet these challenges from the noblest qualities of our ‘I’
forces through transcendent awakening. In this branch meeting Mark Geard and Emily Fletcher of Alamandria will guide a conversational and
experiential session on the theme of meditation and mindful practices. We will look at why meditation and self-development are so important for the welfare of each
individual and for creating inner resources for meeting and acting within this increasingly imperiled
world. In an open discussion we will look at:
Why meditate?
Creativity, soul nourishment and meditation
What is mindfulness?
Preparing a sound foundation for meditation
The difficulty in starting and maintaining a practice
The dangers one can meet within meditation
People are welcome to bring any questions or issues they may have in relation
