Nau mai haere mai and welcome back to Term 3 at Grey Lynn School!

Alicia Whata —

A special welcome to our new students and their whanau as they begin their new journey at our place.

Farewell to staff;

We would like to farewell two long-serving staff members.

Dean Honore’ has served our school for 10 years in his capacity of Grey Lynn School Caretaker, of our grounds and buildings. We thank him for his care and contribution to Grey Lynn School over the years. We wish him the very best for his next adventure ahead. In the interim, we welcome Filo Fale as our Property Manager until a final appointment is made.

“Over the last ten years, it has been my privilege to be part of the Grey Lynn School community. Thanks to all the staff, parents and especially the children for making it so special. I am very proud of the contribution I have made over the years, and look forward to seeing GLS continued growth. Please do say hello in the village, all the very best Grey Lynn School, love Dean, Caretaker xo”

Liz Hamilton has been a part of the Grey Lynn School staff for 7 years in her varying roles as learning assistant and librarian. She has shared her passion for literature with our staff, students and their whanau. We thank her for the knowledge and work in promoting her love of books with us all. Good luck with the next step ahead Liz.

"I will miss all the children here at Grey Lynn School and wish you all the very best in your new school buildings"

Building Progress

You may have noticed that our Portacom buildings alongside the pool are on the move and are being shifted away to other schools in need. We have a new wider asphalt path by our courts and our hall is shaping up well while the beginnings of our Arts Centre are now apparent. We hope that stage 3 of our project will be completed by December 2019!

Bingo Night

If you have not grabbed your tickets to come along to our biggest fundraising event in 2019, please do so before they sell out.

 A wonderful night for adults to have fun and support our school in the process. The Fundraising Team have made an incredible effort on organising this event and they have some wonderful auction items on offer. This is no small feat and we thank them for their huge effort of time and passion to make this happen under the able leadership of Angie Worsley and Rachel McBride. Thank you to you both along with your team.

Have a great week ahead. We look forward to meeting you all next Tuesday afternoon at our Parent discussions about your child and their learning.
