Class Connector

GLS —

The Class Connector role is a way of coordinating parents’ strengths and expertise in supporting our teachers with our children’s learning. Each whānau group is encouraged to have a parent in each whānau class to hold the role of Class Connector.

Key Roles:

  • Connect families with each other - welcome and provide essential parent to parent information.

  • Share information on behalf of the school including school events as they may come up.

  • Engage parent help to support the teacher when required, (in consultation with the whanau teachers); in class with students, for learning activities or trips, for resource support or further adult supervision for learning in and out of the classroom.

  • Connect students and families in a social activity once per school term as the Class Connector determines.

Some key school events to connect families at Grey Lynn School:

  • Picnic - February

  • Cross Country - May

  • Quiz & Auction - June

  • Matariki Disco - June

  • Aloha - November

  • Fiafia - December
