Ready, set, go!

The timeline is confirmed for our MOVE to our new learning spaces!

We are very excited and positive as a staff and can not wait to get in there!

WHAT does that mean?

• Stage 1 and 2 (The learning spaces on level 2 and 3 including the admin) of the build is on track to be completed within the first week of the school term.

• The lowest floor; level 1 of the building will not be opened yet until our roll numbers grow over time.

• The council must give us a green light of GO (CPU) to occupy the space before we can move and live in our new spaces.

• The Hall space and Arts centre is stage 3 of our project and is online to be completed towards the end of the year.

WHEN is this happening? These dates will need to be flexible dependant on when we get our CPU from the Council; so we need you to be flexible also; knowing that this may change.

• TARGET date: WEEK 2 of Term 2; next term!

• Wednesday 8th May: Dawn blessing of the new building. Students, staff and community are welcome to attend. Walkthrough of new spaces and breakfast for all.

• Thursday 9th May: School activities for kids and pack down of classes

• Friday 10th May: Staff only day. Unpack and set up of learning spaces.

• MONDAY 13th May: Celebration day! Grey Lynn School starts in new learning spaces!

Names of floors

• Plans of our new spaces will be on display for families to see on Day 1 next term.

• Level 3 of our building will be known as the WILLIAMSON floor.

• Level 2 of our building will be known as the SURREY floor.

• Level 1 of our building will be known as the CRUMMER floor.

• Kate Ginders(R22) and Alysha Moore(R21) in a 3 classroom space on Williamson; Level 3.

• Donna Haslem(R13), Cristina Cochrane(R11), Romiza Shah (R14) in a 4 classroom space; on Surrey; Level 2.

• Deb Lawson (R4), Stacey Kavanaugh(R5) in a 3 classroom space; on Surrey; Level 2.

• Jody Hayes(R6) and Robyn Dean (R7) will remain in the Dorothy Smith (DS) Block

• Great news! We will be having whanau connect information meetings for each team; on Thursday 2nd May in a rolling meeting style. This meeting will be run by your Team of teachers which will talk about the things that will be the same, different and an opportunity for questions, as each year group has a different expectation and way of working dependant on their age and stage of their learners.

• Year 1/2: 3:30 pm - 4:00 pm Year 3/4: 4:00-4:30 pm, Year 5/6:4:30 - 5:00pm.
