Kids Can Cook FINAL
Phoebe Lawson represented GLS and sKids GL at the Kiwi Kids Can Cook 2019 finals on Sunday.
Our young Phoebe Lawson cooked her heart out at the 2019 Kiwi Kids Can Cook finals at Westfield Mall, Manukau in front of a big lunch time crowd on Sunday 11 August.
She made potato gnocchi, served with brocollini and sage burnt butter sauce.
Hughie Blues, one of the panel judges described her dish as "a classic Italian dish that's tricky to make as overworking the potato dough can make the texture tough and gluggy... Phoebe's gnocchi were soft and melt in your mouth, just look at how puffy and pillowy they look on the dish!"
The lucky few of us including the Scarries got to sample her dish and "mama mia, delisimo!!!"
Unfortunately, she was overtaken by a stunning blue cod dish by a 9yo boy from Stewart Island, who caught the fish himself!
Special thanks to the Lawson family, Sandie and Kerry for taking time out of their precious weekend to support Phoebe and this initiative by NZ Chefs Association and sKids.
We are all so proud of you Phoebe!
