Cardboard Tube Chaise

Grey Lynn School —

The chaise was part of an installation at World Park(ing) Day on Tyler St in Britomart, where CAAHT Studio occupied a street carpark and reimagined it into a space for people rather than cars for a day.

The project was fully designed, fabricated and assembled as a team by the crew at CAAHT Studio Architects with the recycled cardboard tubes being fully sponsored by Auckland Paper Tubes along with sponsorship in the form of discounted rates on some of the other materials/decal by Ullrich Aluminium, Plytech, Torque Digital. They collaborated with WORLD with regard to the quotes as well as coordinating their window display with the installation for that day.

This now sits in our Ngakau space.  It was such a wonderful sight watching the kids having such fun on it, and CAAHT Studios are really happy that the installation has found a good home!!
