Google Meet Etiquette and Guidelines.
Below are the expected behaviours and guidelines when your child is part of a Google Meet Video Chat.
When your child is accepted into a video chat by their teacher there are certain guidelines we all must follow.
- Students are to find a suitable quiet environment to be part of a call.
- Students are not to be in their bedroom or bathroom
- Backgrounds behind the student need to be appropriate.
- Students should be dressed appropriately
- Look wide awake, hair combed etc and ready to learn
- Make sure you MUTE your mic when you are not speaking.
- Use headphones if you can to reduce background noise

Here's how a Google Hangout Meet will work:
1. Students click on the link from their teacher.
2. Click the "Ask to Join" button
3. Wait to be admitted by their teacher
4. Enjoy the learning conversations
5. At the end, students wait to be removed by their teacher.
Clicking on the link on a Chromebook or laptop will take you straight to the Meeting page. If students in Years 1-4 are using another device links to installing the apps are as follows:
iPhone or iPad app
Android
Should a student be rude, non-compliant or inappropriate the teacher will remove them from the video call and follow this up with the parent concerned.
