We are learning about rhythm, beat and pitch.

Over the past 5 weeks the Kiwi Hub have been enjoying learning all about beat, rhythm and pitch. We have been listening to different pieces of music to identify the different parts of the song. The children have been keeping in time to the music by clapping, using chop sticks and other percussion instruments. To show pitch the children used their bodies to show high and low sounds and they were also able to show this using an xylophone. The children and teachers really enjoyed making music on a Wednesday afternoon, so much so that the teachers even thought about making a hub band! You might like to ask your children to tell you about the beat, rhythm and pitch in songs.
