Home learning is sent out on Friday. Please remember that it is due back on Thursday. For spelling, we want to encourage students to use these words to help build their vocabulary knowledge.
Home Learning will consist of:
Spelling/Word Study - word list related to what they are learning in class, they need to learn the spelling and put words into sentences.
Maths Activity - Students will have three levels to choose from, they can do just one or even all three. These are based on what we are currently learning in class.
Reading - We encourage at least 20 minutes most nights and for students to keep a reading log.
Toroa - Year 7-8
Home learning is sent out as a booklet each term. Each week, students are to complete a unit with maths, reading, spelling, and grammar elements. There are various levels, to ensure that students can work independently. Homework is marked each week.
During the school week, students are also expected to complete set tasks on one of the online reading enrichment programmes; Reading Plus, Lexia, or Core 5 (this will take approx 60 minutes per week). If these have not been completed during school time, we ask students to do them at home.
