PCG Fundraising Priorities 2025
The PCG has met to discuss fundraising priorities for our school, carefully considering the areas that would benefit most from community support. While there are many worthy projects, the PCG has committed to fundraising for a new multi-purpose court to be built between the Kōtare and Toroa learning hubs.
This full-sized court will provide much-needed additional play space for tamariki of all ages, supporting a variety of sports, games, and activities, including basketball, netball, and futsal. The location has been chosen as the most suitable and cost-effective site for development, making use of an under utilised area of our school grounds.
It’s important to note that the school does not receive Ministry funding for outdoor play spaces, meaning this project is only possible through fundraising efforts. With community support, we can create a vibrant, inclusive, and active space for all our students to enjoy.
If you know if any individual or company that would be willing to contribute toward our basketball court, please contact pcg@marshland.school.nz. Any contributions will be publicly acknowledged.
The PCG has carried over $23,000 from funds raised in 2024, which will contribute to this project. In the meantime, to provide immediate benefits for our tamariki, some of this money has been allocated to purchasing seating that can also be used as play equipment. Additionally, the school has applied for a grant to fund a seating and access area outside the Kōtare learning hub.
