The Marshland Parent Community Group is made up of a group of enthusiastic whānau to raise money for resources that will benefit tamariki at our school.

Our Purpose

To foster community relationships and enhance school opportunities for the benefit of our tamariki.

How we do this

• Enhancing community engagement and relationships across the school., e.g. Quiz night for Whānau, Ngātahi Evening with a showcase of student performance

• Fundraising for the needs of the school, such as equipment and educational resources., e.g. Chocolate bar sales, Pasta Vera

• Providing social engagement opportunities for students outside of school hours e.g. Pizza lunches, School Disco.

What we’re fundraising for in 2025

The Marshland School Parent Community Group is on a mission to raise as much money as we can in 2025. In 2023, we raised enough money to fit out the new dedicated community space/library. In 2024, we began fundraising for a school court, purchased football goals, painted interactive court markings around the school, installed junior basketball hoops, and erected outdoor furniture. This year, we are focusing on raising all funds to complete the full-sized outdoor basketball court, which tamariki can enjoy during their break times and will support a range of outdoor play activities.

When do we meet

The PCG meets twice a term at 6:00 pm in the staffroom. Any parent or whānau of tamariki enrolled at Marshland School are welcome to attend a meeting to see what we’re all about. Meeting times and dates are posted in the school newsletter.

Can’t make meetings?

In addition to committee members, we also have volunteers who give their time, skills and assistance with the activities we organise. If you’d like to help us out this way, please email pcg@marshland.school.nz and we’ll add you to our volunteer list.
