In the Pukeko Hub, we have continued to learn about the Zones of Regulation as part of our Inquiry.

Through this learning, the children are developing an increased awareness of our many emotions and an understanding that there are times when we will all feel these emotions.

We have learnt about the four different zones - Blue, Green, Yellow and Red, and the types of emotions that are in these zones. The children enjoyed making connections between each of the zones and the characters in the movie Inside Out.

We listened to the story The Colour Monster and created our own colour monster. Each child chose an emotion that their monster was feeling, and through the colour of their monster, identified the zone that this emotion is in. These monsters look fantastic, and are a great, colourful reminder in our learning spaces of the many and varied things we might feel each day!
