From the Principal
Final Newsletter for 2019
As 2019 draws to a close, I would like to offer my thanks to Marshland School staff, the Board of Trustees, and to you our community, for all that you have done throughout the year and for your contribution to your child’s education. Working together, learning from and supporting each other is the key to our success.
The highlights and successes, of which there have been many would not have been possible without every one of you. It is your commitment and care that makes our school a great one and I am incredibly proud of what has been achieved this year.
There have been so many noteworthy individual and collective achievements, it's impossible to name them all, but the most special component of Marshland school is our learners our children. Our children are excellent ambassadors in the community, whether on trips, sporting events or learning excursions. They can all be relied upon to represent the school with pride and dignity and this year has been no exception, especially our Year 8 students who we say goodbye to on the 17th December.
2019 has again seen continuing growth at our school. We have welcomed new teachers along with new families. 2020 promises some more growth and hopefully the beginning of our new build that will give us the capacity for 600 students. In the meantime, our staff is stable and the planning for 2020 is all set. The Board of Trustees have again allowed for a teacher aide in every Hub, and some Hubs have their teacher aide full time. This ensures that every child's needs are catered for.
I count myself extremely privileged to work with such a dedicated team of people.
I hope you enjoy the festive season and have a very relaxing break with family and friends.
Meri kirihimeti!
Merry Christmas!
