Consequences for Digital Breaches (Internally within School hours)
Breaches of guidelines include:
Gaming or off-task behaviours during learning time
Cyberbullying
Searching for inappropriate sites or information
Note: All Linewize breaches are emailed to Wayne who will inform Team Leaders, DPs and Principal. All students should be made aware that these people will be notified immediately of any inappropriate searches. In all cases where access to devices is removed for a period, if a teacher needs a student to complete an online activity, they may use a device for this under the direct supervision of their teacher. Relievers need to be made aware of these steps.
Cyber bullying
Investigation following the principles of natural justice.
Parents contacted and informed of the infringement and the consequence.
Restorative conference with all involved (includes bystanders).
Teaching appropriate behaviour may be carried out at an individual or hub level.
Incident, communication with parents, consequences and any teaching are recorded on Hero.
Inappropriate searching
Immediate discussion with student about what they were doing - check for accuracy.
Immediate loss of device for five school days.
Parents contacted and informed of the infringement and the consequence.
Possible referral to support agency is discussed with parents

Off task behaviour
If there is an infringement or evidence of off-task behaviour, this is discussed with the class teacher.
First infringement - Loss of device for one day.
Second infringement - Parents notified and loss of device for one day. Also at the next break, the student catches up on incomplete work or completes a reflection sheet related to positive steps to overcome what they have done.
Third infringement - Loss of device for five school days. Also, parents informed of the breach and a plan is drawn up to remedy this issue.
